wilson the crocodile

Wilson the crocodile was probably the first big piece i made. He started out life as two crank shafts welded together to form the main skeleton. The teeth were constructed from a gearing cog that sat nicely into a disused bicycle chain. He weighs appox 40kg. He got a commendation award in 2023 Koestler Art Competition.

Many of the animal sculptures I make are from my own imagination only having seen a real crock on TV, so the proportions are usually to my taste and not anatomically correct. Its difficult to get an exactness when using what’s available but I strive to make my pieces pleasing to the eye.
