Wilson the Crocodile

Weighing approximately 40kg Wilson was probably the first large piece I created. He began as two crankshafts welded together to form the main skeleton, with his teeth crafted from a gearing cog that fit perfectly into a discarded bicycle chain.
Wilson received a commendation award in the 2023 Koestler Art Competition.
Many of the animal sculptures I create come from my imagination. Having only seen real crocodiles on TV, Wilson’s proportions reflect my personal interpretation rather than strict anatomical accuracy. Achieving exact precision with available materials is challenging, but this is what makes my sculptures distinctive and visually captivating.
